EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a body based technique that helps people process and release emotional trauma, PTSD, and complex grief. It is safe, well researched, and non-invasive. In extreme situations, whether that is a recent accident, or chronic childhood abuse, we operate from a deeper part of our brain, the “fight or flight response.” Under extreme stress, we bypass our mature thinking brain and we literally store the experience in a different part of our brain. EMDR helps people access and digest those memories in a safe, gentle, and controlled way and helps them begin to live a life where they no longer have to avoid, deny, or go numb just to deal with daily life.
